2008/09 is our 6th season as Pegasus Youth. We have played mini soccer, 9 a side and have now entered into our 3rd year at 11 a side football.
Last year the team set themselves a challenge – they wanted to win the division. This target we just missed out on by coming 2nd. This is an achievement to be proud of and another trophy in the cabinet. The 3 consecutive years before that we had won the sportsmanship award for our division.
We have taken a 2 division leap from last year’s 5th division to this year’s 3rd in the Young Elizabethan League. We expect this season to be a tough challenge – one we fully intend to meet head on. The whole team is looking forward to it. In order to rise to this challenge the team has agreed to adopt the policy of ‘strongest team starts’. A repeat of last year’s ethos which is backed by the parents.
Our home ground is Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground in Stapleford and our matches kick off at 10.30am. Winter training takes place at Bilborough College on Thursday evenings fron 7.00-8.00pm
