Sun 28 Dec 2008  League
Under 16's Boys 2
East Leak Bantams 1

Football to me is all about attitude and respect and today we had a terrible attitude and showed our opponents no respect at all and in the end we were very fortunate to get the 3 points. From the start we made the early running but couldn't get the finishing touch to turn the chances into goals. Then as soon as the ball is played into our half we panic and won't take responsibility, luckily we were not punished. Chances continued to come our way but they were all squandered until Jack got his head to a corner from Danny to give us the lead. Luke soon made it 2 with a neat finish following a great ball from Jack before half time. we had many more chances but these were all wasted. For the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half again we were the dominant team. However I could feel East Leake coming back into the game and sure enough they got their reward with a great finish from a corner. This made for a very nervous last 15 minutes for us. We had chances to seal the game but could not take them and in the end hung on for the win. We really have to raise our game and take the chances to finish the game when they come our way AND RESPECT THE OPPOSITION.
Full credit to East Leake who never gave up and Full Credit to Martin Rowbottom for his excellent officiating of the game.
