Under 9's Flyers/Sun-Whites 3
Belper Sports 1

After a fortnight's break from football, Pegasus braced the first cold snap of winter to face Belper Sports. The game started with Pegasus spending much of the first five minutes in their own half. However despite this Belper didn't manage to beat the tight and competitive defending of Arun Sahota and Sam O'Mara. After this tight opening period Pegasus settled down to begin playing passing football with all members of the team getting involved. Following a throw in on the left hand side Kieran Jackson passed the ball to Matthew Woodward who was in a central position in front of goal. Matthew then surged past two of the Belper defenders and slid the ball under the approaching Belper keeper for Pegasus to take the lead. Five minutes later Arun was struck in the face with the ball and had to come off with a nose bleed. Dillon Tideswell came on up front and Owen Hayes went into defence. The team settled back down and break up the centre of the pitch from Matthew the ball was laid off to Kieran who managed to beat two players and put the ball past the keeper in a similar manner to the first goal. Pegasus went into the half time break two goals in the lead.

Shaan Hullait and Owen Hayes were replaced in the half-time break by Liam Daikin and Arun. Belper started the second half with an energy level that belied the score line and in the opening first five minutes of the second half had several long range efforts that were comfortably collected by Jordan Fellicia. After a spell of several consecutive corners, Belper took a corner from the left hand side which snuck in on the inside post to take the score line to two one. Pegasus came back after the goal and began to play their best period of football with the ball being passed up both flanks and good opportunities created by Dillon up the right and Liam up the left. Pegasus' third goal came a great piece of interlinking play which ended up with Matthew scoring a similar goal to his first.

Shaan and Owen came on for the last ten minutes for Kieran and Dillon. Both teams created opportunities in the last ten minutes with Jordan Fellicia making some great saves to round off another good contribution. Likewise Sam O'Mara played another good game with some solid defending and with some composed passing of the ball. However the game was a good team performance with all players defending and attacking a single unit.

The final score was 3– 1 to Pegasus.

Man of the Match: Arun Sahota for another composed and intelligent performance at the back.
